" Our staff can help ensure you are claiming all the Housing and State Benefits you are entitled to "

Are you sure you’re claiming all the Housing and other State benefits you’re entitled to?

Twin Valley can help!

Billions of pounds worth of benefits go unclaimed each year, especially by older people, families with children and people with disabilities. Our team of Community Benefit Advisors can advise and help you claim the benefits you may be entitled to in order to maximise your income.

If you have difficulties washing, bathing, cooking or walking, you may be entitled to Disability Living Allowance if aged under 65 or Attendance Allowance if aged over 65. Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance are both ignored as income when claiming benefits.

If you receive any of these benefits, you may be entitled to additional benefits. Even if you have savings, you may still be eligible to claim benefits. Savings under £6,000 or less are ignored. And even if you have more, you may still be entitled to receive some benefits.

Please note under the Civil Partnership Act, the Department of Work and Pensions is actively encouraging claimants to report civil partnership and same-sex couples living together, they will no longer be treated as separate claimants for benefit and tax credit purposes and must now claim as a couple.

If you think you might be entitled to Housing Benefit or you’d like to check that you’re receiving everything you’re entitled to, contact our Community Benefits Team. They are all fully trained to help ensure you’re claiming all the Housing and State Benefits you are entitled to. They can:

  • Help you complete application forms and pass any  necessary documents to the Benefits Office
  • Do a trial calculation to give you an estimated rent to pay whilst your benefit is being assessed
  • Help you to claim any backdated benefits and signpost you to other benefit agencies and to uncover unclaimed and unpaid benefits that were previously unknown to you.
  • Talk to the Housing Benefits office about your claim on your behalf (you need to sign a consent form to allow us to do this)
  • Contact all new tenants before they take a property to discuss any benefits they might be entitled to.

We hold regular surgeries where you can call in and discuss anything concerning your rent, including Housing Benefit.
