Rent Income Management Team (Tel: 01254 269 020)
The team is managed by Linda Slack and is supported by 14 staff. They collect rent from current and former tenants and overpayments of housing benefit. They can help you:
- to manage your rent account
- to open basic bank accounts and signposting tenants to lenders who charge interest at a much lower rates than loan sharks
- by offering tenants money management advice utilising the services of Debt Advisors from the Council’s Housing Advice Centre.
The team can also refer you to our Community Benefit Advisors, who offer help in completing housing benefit claims and securing other benefits such as Disability Living Allowance. These advisors are authorised to verify tenants’ income which helps facilitate a speedy resolution to their Housing Benefit claims.

- to set up a Direct Debit
- with advice on different payment methods
- order a payment card
- by advising you on the home contents insurance scheme
