Your tenancy agreement

" Starter tenancies have been such a success in combating incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour "

There are two main types of tenancy agreement.

Starter Tenancy

If you are a new tenant, this is the the type of tenancy agreement you will sign when you first become a Twin Valley Homes customer.

A starter tenancy is like a probationary period, which lasts for 12 months, in which a new tenant’s behaviour (i.e. paying rent, looking after your home, incidents of ASB etc) are monitored and are aimed at making our communities a happier place to live.

If there are any breaches of the tenancy agreement, Twin Valley Homes has the power to end the agreement at short notice.

The scheme was trialled across several estates in Blackburn and Darwen over the last six years and the fall in incidents of ASB have all shown a decline – a very sharp decline in some instances.

Assured Tenancy

The Assured tenancy agreement replaces the Starter tenancy once a tenant has succesfully completed a 12-month period with us.
