Preventative Maintenance

Whilst there will always be a requirement for us to provide you with a “day-to-day” repairs’ service for unexpected faults, emergencies and breakdowns, we would much rather these didn’t happen in the first place.

To reduce the number of faults and breakdowns, it's much better if we try to prevent such occurrences by renewing major building components before we think they will start to fail.

Our surveyors are continually assessing the condition of your homes using our “Home Condition Survey”.
You may be asked to give us access to your home periodically, so that we can inspect the condition of all the major building elements, inside and out. Please help us to help you. This will take about an hour and it will be necessary to look in every room.

We will inspect:

  • Roofs, chimneys, fascias, soffits, rainwater goods
  • Doors and windows
  • External walls
  • Fences, paths, out-buildings
  • Electrics
  • Heating
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms
  • Internal joinery and plasterwork

Every component has a “life cycle” or life expectancy and predicting this will allow us to predict when something is going to need replacing. The survey of your home will us to predict when this is likely to be and to plan accordingly. Not too early so that we don't get the full “life” out of something and not too late so that it starts to cause you a problem.
