Your safety during improvement and maintenance work

Before, during, and after any planned works, the safety of you, your family and your visitors, is of paramount importance to us.

Planned maintenance can involve: the erection of scaffolds; the use of plant and machinery; the use of electrical equipment; gas-powered blow torches; drills; percussion hammers; and a whole host of other potential hazards.

Even the presence of more “site traffic” around where you live presents hazards you wouldn’t normally be accustomed to in your neighbourhood. Effectively your home becomes a “mini-building site” for a few days or weeks.

Whilst we will ensure that the contractor has presented us with a well-prepared health and safety plan, and we will be vigilant, the contractor will be largely be responsible for health and safety.

Your co-operation and that of your family and visitors will be needed throughout.

Very occasionally you may be asked to temporarily vacate your home. Please co-operate.

Some machinery can be noisy, dust-generating, and dangerous if not used properly. Please supervise your children and pets and give the contractor the room needed to get the job done. Remain vigilant - if you see anything you think is not being done safely or, you think you are being exposed to any risk or hazard, ring us immediately. The contact number will be made available to you at the start of each project.

If you have any particular concerns before we start, please notify us. If you or anyone in your household has a particular health issue, please make our staff aware in advance, so that we can take steps to reduce or remove any potential hazards.
