The scheme is expanding across the Pennine Lancashire region, which includes Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale to give customers more choice in where they wish to live. It’s not only the scheme that’s being improved.
We’re using state-of-the-art technology to make sure our customers have every chance to get the home they desire. Customers will be able to “bid” on properties using an automated telephone service, by text, on the internet and now from your remote control via our own TV portal, Looking Local, Twin Valley Television (TVTV - 8888).
TVTV allows customers to view the properties from the comfort of their armchairs. You can access our services via Sky or Virgin television and 3-G Mobile phones - and you can also connect to the TVTV portal via the Nintendo Wii games console via a broadband connection. You can also contact us in the traditional way by telephone on 0300 123 22 00 or by visiting one of our offices.
To comply with statutory legislation, we do need to make some changes to the way the scheme operates. The system will still be easy to use and to understand, but instead of either being a priority or non-priority member, we will take into consideration other housing needs and use four bands instead of the current two. The improved scheme will remain flexible enough to allow members in each of the four bands the opportunity to obtain a home of their choice.
The scheme is being introduced by the following 4 Local Authorities and 17 Housing Associations and members will only have to complete one application form!
